I started White Fern back in 2018 after styling my own wedding and falling in love with the industry all over again. I say all over again as my first ever job was working for a couture bridal designer and I loved it so much, but I went to university moved away from the wedding industry, and went into fashion & retail, but my dream was always to get back into the world of weddings. Fast forward a few years and White Fern was born!

I knew I wanted a modern and elegant wedding, and I wanted to do as much as I could myself. I’d helped so many friends make, design and style things for their weddings and loved being a part of it so much, I couldn’t wait to get started on my own.

At this point I was still working at my long-term job where I had been for over a decade, but a nasty fall 3 weeks after my wedding saw me break my arm and I was forced to take 10 weeks off work. During this time, I did some thinking and decided that if I didn’t follow my dream now, I never would.

From sourcing all of my centrepieces to making hand poured soy candles for favours it was so much fun I never wanted it to end. After our wedding I really felt like I wanted to help other couples create their perfect day and started dreaming of a business where I could do just that.

WONDER + WILD

HANDMADE PERSONALISED GOODS

During the chaos that was 2020 we were in a position where weddings were sadly put on pause, being a creative type I felt the need to turn my hand to something new to keep me busy and help pass the time. That is when Wonder + Wild was born. It started off when I was scouring the internet for personalised Christmas stockings to hang from the wooden beam of our fireplace. I wanted something elegant, modern and stylish that would last for years to come.

When my internet search came up short, I decided to try and make my own. I posted a picture of them on my personal Facebook and had a rush of friends and family who wanted one too, so I created an Instagram and Esty page and got to work! I still love to make stockings but for the rest of the year I make wall hanging banners adorned with the cutest little pom poms! We are proud stockists at childrenswear brand Panda + Pip and a beautiful local home and gift wear shop Archies Attic.
